Air France-KLM Orders USD $12 billion

00September 18, 2011 in Blog

The airline industry continues to show its expected strong growth with the purchasing of more aircraft. Just this week Air France-KLM placed a USD $12 billion order for jet aircraft.  The order includes both Boeing and Airbus planes — 25 Boeing 787 jumbo Dreamliners and 25 Airbus A350s.

The announcement is the result of months of negotiation between governments and aircraft manufacturers with Air France-KLM.

Boeing delivering its first B787 Dreamliner to Japan’s All Nippon airways this month. It expects to deliver the first B787 to Air France-KLM in 2016, and Airbus expects to deliver the first jumbo A350 to Air France-KLM in 2018.  The two airlines merged in 2004, but continue to maintain separate networks.

Air France-KLM expects to operate 73 of these aircraft, including 43 Airbus A350-900 and 30 Boeing 787-9.

If your dream is to fly a jumbo jet such as the A350 or B787 Dreamliner, now is the time to start your pilot training, to develop your skills, so you will be ready to fly one of these amazing aircraft. How do you do that? Phoenix East Aviation has been training pilot candidates for airlines worldwide since 1972. Our strength is training international pilots for international airlines.
