Become a Pilot and Fly for American Airlines

To help you learn more about aviation and becoming a pilot, Phoenix East Aviation provides occasional summaries of airlines. 
 
Today, the spotlight is on American Airlines. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection serve 260 airports in more than 50 countries. American Airlines, Inc. and American Eagle Airlines, Inc. are subsidiaries of AMR Corporation.
 
The airline averages more than 3,400 flights each day, every day of the year. The combined network aircraft fleet totals more than 900 airplanes.
 
American Airlines alone employes 11,987 pilots. Their larger aircraft include MD80, B757, B767, and B777. As a first officer for American Airlines, your minimum annual salary will be $30,984 plus any international overrides, overtime pay, special credits and per diem. As an experienced captain for American Airlines flying the B777, your minimum salary will be $157,294 plus overtime pay etc.

    I’m a South African citizen. To become a pilot is my dream but I coma from poor background at home no one is working my dad died when I was a child and my mother manage to send to school and I pass matric last year with berchelas degree and I couldn’t get school in south Africa that train pilot. I hope and pray that one day I’ll become a pilot the reason I choose america because it the only choice I had now to become a pilot. I really want to become a pilot and I will make sure that I my best to become a good pilot and I won’t let your ll down I promise.

    Wonder How can One realize the dream of becomming an ATP,with an annual income not exceeding 10,000 bucks? if there’s a way out thought which way ? Meanwhile I’m living the Dream being a Virtual Pilot For american Pacific….not bad,anyway! I fly….thanks,my regards.
