Flight Dispatcher and Pilot Salaries

There has been much interest in salaries of U.S. pilots and flight dispatchers. Please use this information as a guideline, as it varies, and some salaries may range above or even below that shown below. All salaries are shown in U.S. dollars.

Flight Dispatcher (often called the “Captain on the Ground”): $25,000 – $100,000.

Agricultural Pilot: $20,000 – $70,000

Airline Pilot: $23,000 – $250,000

Astronaut: $65,140 – $100,701

Corporate Pilot: $19,400 – $115,000

Ferry Pilot: $12,000 – $65,000

Flight Engineer: $12,000 – $78,000

Flight Instructor: $12,300 – $40,530

Helicopter Pilot: $29,000 – $57,000

Miltary Pilot: $21,290 – $99,000

Regional Airline Pilot: $16,500 – $60,000

Test Pilot: $15,000 – $200,000

Traffic Report Pilot: $18,000 – $40,000
