More Aircraft Purchased — More Pilots Typically Needed

00October 12, 2012 in Blog

Boeing and Japan’s All Nippon Airlines (ANA) have announced that the airline has ordered an additional 11 passenger aircraft…the big, new and technologically advanced B787-9 Dreamliners. This order is valued at USD$2.7 Billion at current list prices.  This brings the total B787 purchased by ANA to a 66 aircraft.

Why is ANA purchasing these amazing aircraft?  It’s the improved fuel efficiency and great seating capacity of the B787-9, according to the airline.  These aircraft will support the domestic and international expansion of the airline in the future. ANA considers the B787 a “game-changing” airplane because of its advantages.

The airline has also announced new routes from Narita, Japan, to San Jose, California starting this coming January.

A few details about this exceptional aircraft — which pilots are bound to love: The B-787-9 Dreamliner is a longer version of the B-787-8. It carries 250-290 passengers (depending on the indivdiual airline’s configuration of the passenger cabin) and will fly 8,000 to 8,500 nautical miles before refueling (14,800 to 15,570 kilometers). The fuel efficiency is said to be incredible, as is the exceptional environmental performance. It uses 20% less fuel than today’s aircraft of similar sizes. It also travels at a speed of Mach .85, which is near the speed of sound!

Interested in learning to fly, so you can also be the captain of one of these B787 Dreamliners?  Then now is the time to act.  Learn more about gaining the skills to be ready to become the pilot in command of such an aircraft.  Contact Phoenix East Aviation today….really, today….to learn more about what it takes.  See www.pea.com, fill out a Contact Me form, and a knowledgeable Admissions Officer will quickly email you and begin to tell you about how you can start your flight training.
