To Be a Pilot: Multi-Engine Rating

1 1 April 17, 2011 in Blog
So you’ve achieved your Private Pilot License, and you’re conquered your Instrument Rating, and also achieved your Commercial Pilot License.  Congratulations! Adding a multi-engine rating to your Private or Commercial or Certified Flight Instructor Certificate is another big accomplishment.  Why do you want to do this?  Simply, a Multi-engine Rating allows you to fly an aircraft with two or more engines.  If you want to become a professional pilot, you will most likely need this.  As an airline pilot, even for a regional airline, you will need this. As a charter pilot or a cargo pilot, you will also need this rating.
You can achieve your Multi-Engine Rating pretty quickly. At Phoenix East Aviation, you will fly with one of our excellent instructors (“dual” as opposed to “solo” flight) for approximately 15 hours.  You will also spend about six hours in a multi-engine simulator in our simulator laboratory. then you will have 15 hours of instruction on the ground (“ground school”.)  You will then take a flight exam, and that’s it!  You can now be proud of being a Multi-engine rated pilot!  Phoenix East will guide you through this process and help you achieve your Multi-engine Rating in just a short time.
