US Airlines See More Recovery
Both American Airlines and United Airlines reported growth in passengers in January as compared to January 2009. Now seven of the top nine U.S. airlines are showing growth in passenger miles flown.
Even when compared to 2008, four major U.S. airlines showed growth: AirTran was up nearly 12%, Alaska Airlines was up over 4%, and jetBlue and Southwest grow in passenger miles flown by approximately 1%.
As the worldwide economy continues its recovery, this growth in airline traffic is excellent news for those who wish a career flying for a U.S. airline. Continued recovery means more hiring in the near future. If you want to be ready to be hired, now is the perfect time to start your flight training.
