US International Gateway Airport

00December 10, 2008 in Blog

If you think you may want to fly internationally, this information about new international US airports may be of interest to you: Did you realize that more airports in the US are becoming international. Airports at Dayton, Ohio; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Richmond, Virginia are now all international airports. New York's JFK airport continues to be the leading airport for all international traffic in the US, but there is another airport that is rapidly building more international traffic: Miami, Florida.

Among the top 15 international airports, there have been some large capacity increases.  Atlanta has grown over 11% and Philadelphia is up 14% this year.   The top 15 US airports account for over 80% of all international traffic in the US.

Delta Airlines is expanding its international routes. Starting next year, the airline will be serving Paris CDG from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and also from Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina. Delta also has new routes from New York JFK to Bucharest, Gothenburg, Prague, Valencia, Lagos, and Zurich.

US Airways is also growing internationally. They are offering new service from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Paris CDG and from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Burmingham, England; Oslo, Norway; and Tel Aviv, Israel. United Airlines is planning to fly from Washington D.C. Dulles Airport to London Heathrow.  Continental Airlines will offer daily service from Newark, New Jersey to Shanghai, China.

Think you'd like a job flying one of these routes for these airlines?  Contact Phoenix East Aviation and let us tell you how you can make that happen.  Check out www.pea.com for more information to start you on a great new career as an airline pilot.
