Westjet -- a Canadian Airline Success Story
Friday, October 26, 2012
Have you heard of WestJet? It's a Canadian low-cost airline that has been successful since its beginning in 1996. It has a unique culture that is one of the factors behind that success. It operates to 81 destinations in North America and the Caribbean islands and expects to have a fleet of 100 B-737 by the end of this year. It now has a market share of 37%.
Quite unusually, 85% of its employees are owners of the airline and care tremendously about the service they provide. The owner-employees also voted on starting a new regional carrier earlier this year -- an airline that will begin operations in 2013, with a fleet of Bombardier Q400 turboprops.
Graduates at Phoenix East Aviation fly for airlines just like WestJet -- and you can too. Contact Phoenix East at
