Modern Avionics Systems have Changed!

No Longer will your skills in conventional instrumentation prepare you for a advanced avionics systems you will likely encounter during your transition to commercial airline flying.

In today’s airline hiring environment, advanced skills will give you a definite advantage over your competition and give you a head start in your airline training.

Phoenix East Aviation’s Glass Cockpit Training Course has been designed in order to provide pilots with the skills required in today’s airline environment.

Additionally, due to the demanding environment or today’s high tech cockpits, there is a greater emphasis on multi-engine crew coordination between the Captain and First Officer. The FAA now mandates that all aircrew receive training in CRM (Crew Resource Management). CRM training has been proven to be successful in preventing accidents caused by human error and has resulted in an overall improvement in aviation safety. The Crew Resource Management, CRM/Human Factors course will train the pilot to become familiar of what will be expected of him or her in a two pilot airline or corporate environment.

Testimonials

  • My name is Jason Prestigiacomo and I’m a First Officer for United Express Airlines, operated by Air Wisconsin Airlines. I’m currently based in Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport flying the CRJ. This assignment was made easier because of the flight training I received at Phoenix East Aviation, Daytona Beach, Florida. Career instructors like other flight schools do not run the flight department at PEA. Former airline pilots run it. These pilots have built up thousands of hours in some of the world’s largest and most advanced airliners and know first hand how to make the transition into the airline industry. All of the training is based upon airline standards, which makes things much easier when you step into your first airline or corporate job.

I looked into other flight schools and selected PEA because of their laid-back operation and job placement statistics. I attained all of my certificates and ratings at PEA, and then took a job with them as a Flight Instructor in 2001. If your goal is to become a Boeing 747 Captain or just a weekend pilot, Phoenix East Aviation is the school for you.

Jason Prestigiacomo, First Officer CRJ, United Express

  • Phoenix East made dreams come true. As a former flight student and flight instructor at Phoenix East Aviation, I have to give PEA all the credit for making my dreams come true. Phoenix East provided me with very professional and timely flight training. Included in my course was the B-727 airline training program that prepared me for the big jets and an airline job. The fact that I was given the opportunity to work as an instructor after graduation made me obtain the necessary experience and flight hours to become eligible for an airline job. In my Scandinavian Airlines interview, the Captain made a great point of me being a graduate of Phoenix East Aviation. He said that he had seen a lot of highly qualified applicants come from Phoenix East. Well, I got the job. Today I’m a First Officer on an MD-88 for Scandinavian Airlines and I love it.

  • Phoenix East was a superior choice for my training. I am so glad I chose Phoenix East. They made my training enjoyable, fast and extremely professional staff quaranteed step by step training for towards your FAA licenses. After graduating from the school they gave me opportunity to work as an instructor, build up my experience and fly in their charter department. I have to give them all credit where I am today, flying widebody jet for domestic and international operations for one of the largest airlines in the world. They truly made my goal reachable and my lifelong dream came true. Before you deside your flight school, I truly recommend you to contact Phoenix East before making that choice.
